This firm’s founder, Rich Azzopardi, spent two decades at the intersection of press, politics, policy and government affairs in New York.
For nine years he worked in the top levels of state government, ultimately serving as senior advisor & director of communications for Governor Andrew M. Cuomo’s Office. There, Azzopardi handled the most sensitive and high-profile assignments, regularly interacting with the Albany, New York City, local & national press corps. He forged a reputation as a hard-charging, loyal, & relentless communications professional who fights to the end for his principal.
In the Governor’s Office, he also played a key strategic role in organizing & executing successful issue campaigns that resulted in new rights, new protections & new economic opportunities for all New Yorkers. These victories include passage of the strongest gun safety laws & paid family leave program in the nation, codifying Roe vs. Wade into state law, a $15 minimum wage, free public college tuition, multiple rounds of regional economic development incentives, cutting middle class state taxes & permanently capping property taxes, among many other key reforms.
Prior to this, Rich made headlines when he stopped an attempted sexual assault outside his Albany home.
He also ran communications during some of the most consequential State Senate campaigns in a generation, was a communications director & chief of staff to a State Senator in one of the most competitive districts in New York, & successfully rolled out the formation of a new legislative conference during one of the most tumultuous periods in this state’s political history.
Rich started his career as a reporter for several well-regarded print publications, providing him with valuable insight & perspective that have aided him in his career in government & the private sector.
